WHY THIS WEBSITE: California produces an impressive range of world-class wines, as do other major wine regions, and its lead winemakers include both women and men. Although the field has historically been male-dominated, progress in terms of women's presence and performance as lead winemakers is surely taking place.
Now in its 15th year, our searchable web-based resource is dedicated to illuminating, studying, and providing an historical record of California’s lead women winemakers, and their career paths, and conducting studies and archiving data related to this topic. We provide accurate, up-to-date information on its lead winemakers, the wineries and wine region where they craft their wines, the evolution of their careers, and their contributions to the wine industry.
