How
safe is Santa Clara University's campus? There are avenues on the
Internet where students can leave their opinions about a school's
appearance, safety, academics, food, and even the parking. On Niche.com, one of these avenues, Santa Clara University received a B+ in safety. Some student opinions were: "The campus is safe, and I know a lot of students feel safe here even at night. There have been a few minor incidents but campus safety does a good job of keeping students safe." - College Freshman "Escort services available through campus safety. Especially if you are a girl, don't walk alone. Campus is safe but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Police and fire station are right across the street." - College Freshman "If there is any crime on or around campus, there is an alert sent to us by phone or email." - College Freshman "I've honestly never felt like my safety has been threatened at SCU. Even when I walk home after a late night of practice, I feel perfectly safe. A lot has to do with the area, the availability of campus safety and the emergency buttons stationed around the campus." - College Freshman "The Santa Clara University campus police have a station right across the street from our campus. The campus has the safety poles, and it also has campus police readily available." - College Sophomore "Great Security System – On Campus security is always on the watch and always improving their security system. They are available 24/7 and have given various ways to be reached, such as phones located around campus, and emergency numbers posted on walls and restrooms around campus." - College Junior Many students are aware of the emergency blue light phones around campus and know they are able to use them. However, I believe that the entire student body should be aware of the amount of emergency phones and their locations. If each student improves their awareness, then emergency phones will continue to be a useful resource. |
