Megan Baccitich

Geodesy (Winemaker)

Westview Wines, LLC (Consulting Winemaker & Owner)

A Healdsburg, California native, Megan’s career aspirations were defined early in life by a love of nature and science. Her interest took on an additional dimension during high school when she held various jobs at local restaurants. This exposure to fine dining and wine culture also offered her the opportunity to get to know the vintners and growers whose names were on the labels.

Combining interests, she enrolled at California State University, Fresno, where she earned a B.S. degree in Viticulture and Enology in 2001. After interning at several Sonoma County wineries, Megan began her tenure at a custom-crush facility, which proved to be an invaluable experience. Overseeing production of a number of wines for several different vintners at the same time not only enhanced her winemaking acumen across an array of varietals and appellations but also fostered the development of strong management skills, all of which provided the springboard for her move to Paul Hobbs, where she was Director of Winemaking for 10 years. Leaving there in 2016, she established Westview Wines, LLC, in Santa Rosa and is its owner and consulting winemaker. Megan is also the winemaker for Geodesy, 100% of whose profits support a program designed to "empower young women in AgTech to nourish, succeed, and uplift our communities.”

Megan works with vineyards in both the Napa and Russian River Valleys and enjoys the challenges of working across appellations and varietals.
