Jasmine Hirsch

Hirsch Vineyards (Winemaker & General Manager)

Jasmine Hirsch was born and bred in sunny California but went all the way across the U.S. to earn a degree in 2001 from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, a city she describes as “gritty.” She majored in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, with a concentration in Japanese.

After graduating, she spent seven years in the business worlds of Prague, Amsterdam, and New York before returning to California to join Hirsch Vineyards in 2008 as Director of Sales and Marketing. Remarkably, Jasmine never thought she’d end up working with her father on Sonoma’s remote far coast.

Hirsch Vineyards was founded by her father, David Hirsch, in 1980. His goal was to produce fruit that would result in site-specific wines. In 2002, he decided to build a winery to produce Hirsch Vineyards wine, with 2008 being its first vintage.

Jasmine’s initial focus when she joined the family winery in 2008 was on sales and customer relations, her role broadened over the next several years as she invested time and energy in learning about the land, the vines, and the wines. She became the winery’s General Manager in 2015 and became its winemaker in 2019.

Hirsch is noted for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and Jasmine’s goal is to continue producing highly-rated examples of each varietal.
