Mireia Taribó

Camins 2 Dreams (Winemaker & Owner)

Mireia Taribó’s winemaking career spans two countries, Spain and the U.S. Born and raised in Catalunya, she knew from a young age that she wanted to learn more about wine, which was a part of her family’s every meal.

She prepared for her career by earning a B.S. in Chemistry from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2004, followed by a B.S. in Viticulture and Enology from the Universitat Rovira I Virgili in 2007. She completed her formal education with a Master’s degree in Viticulture, Enology, and Marketing of Wine in 2009 at the Escola Mercè Rossell i Domènech in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.

Interspersed with her academic training were practical experiences as a harvest intern in 2004 and 2005 at Castell del Remei and Raïmat, respectively, both of which are located in Lleida, Spain. She crossed the ocean in the fall of 2006 to take up a harvest internship with J. Lohr Vineyards and Wines in Paso Robles, California, where she met her future wife, Tara Gomez. Upon returning to Spain, she took a position as assistant winemaker at Raïmat-Legaris. In mid-2008, Mireia moved to Castell d’Eucus in Talarn, Catalunya, a start-up winery located in the Pyrenees Mountains. She was its winemaker/enologist for over six years before becoming its brand ambassador for an additional year. She returned to Paso Robles in August, 2015, joining Kitá Wines, where Tara Gomez is the winemaker, and serves as wine broker and wine consultant there.

In 2017, Mireia and Tara founded a new label, Camins 2 Dreams (Path 2 Dreams), and released its first vintage in 2018. Their focus at the winery is cool-climate varietals such as Syrah and Grüner Veltliner that thrive in the foggy mornings and cool nights of Santa Rita Hills, an appellation in Santa Barbara County.

When not working, Mireia enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her dogs. She loves nature and hiking and enjoys relaxing at home with a glass of wine.
