Haley Wight

Lewelling Vineyards (Winemaker)

Haley Wight is a 6th generation winemaker and viticulturist, who is deeply rooted in the soils of Napa Valley. She holds a degree in earth science, which serves her well in her belief that the farmer in the field lays the foundation for producing amazing wines.

Haley learned about growing grapes from her father, Doug, a well-known vineyard manager in Napa. She credits long hours spent as a cellar worker rather than any formal education in enology with teaching her how to craft outstanding wines that capture the character of the terroir from which the grapes are sourced.

As the winemaker for Lewelling Vineyards, Haley frequently walks the Lewelling vineyard owned by her father and his two brothers, advising her dad on the steps she wants taken on the rows of vines that will furnish the fruit for her wines. Cabernet Sauvignon is the sole varietal produced at Lewelling. Haley also has her own brand, Hayfork, which offers Cabernet Sauvignon.

Prior to initiating her professional career as a winemaker, Haley was a Park Ranger in Washington State. She met her husband, Erik, there, and they are now the proud parents of two children, Tilly and Oly. In her “spare” time, Haley loves to trail run, snow ski, and hike.
