Eva Dehlinger

Dehlinger Winery (Winemaker & General Manager)

Eva Dehlinger is part of a winemaking family that includes her parents and her sister, Carmen. She began her career in the wine industry early on, working at her parents’ winery throughout her youth. In Fall 2003, she embarked on a major in Earth Systems Science at Stanford University, focusing on land management, and graduated with a B.S. degree in 2007.

Following graduation, she returned to the family winery, completed the Master Brewers Program from the University of California, Davis, Extension Program and subsequently finished the Certificate Program in Winemaking from the same unit in 2011. She augmented her winemaking expertise and gained international experience through graduate-level studies in viticulture and terroir at the Université de Bourgogne in Dijon, France, as well as internships in New Zealand, Australia, and France.

At Dehlinger, Eva seeks excellence in all aspects of the winery’s operations. Recognizing that quality winegrowing demands thought and careful planning, she keeps her ears to the ground and her steps in the vineyard as she guides both the vineyard and winery teams at Dehlinger. The winery is noted for its Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay.

In her own words, Eva says, "I see honoring our vineyard site as the central focus as we continue forward. Winemaking questions take generations to answer. It is a rare honor in California to make wines both from vines that you planted as well as grapes that your parents planted."
