Kerith Overstreet

Bruliam Wines (Winemaker & Co-Owner)

Kerith Overstreet’s career path to winemaker is circuitous. She studied English Literature at Cornell University, graduated from medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and completed residency and fellowships in pathology at the University of California, San Diego, Medical Center. And then she fell in love with making wine.

Starting with a single barrel in 2008, she has grown her winery, Bruliam Wines, to 1000 cases a year. Along the way, she completed her enology certificate at UC Davis. Kerith crafts single vineyard Pinot Noir and a smidgen of Rockpile Zinfandel. Cherishing her grower relationships, Kerith has aligned herself with top vineyards and growers to supply her fruit. In 2012, she acquired her own vineyard in the Russian River Valley.

Because of her unique background in academic medicine, she is often asked to speak at industry events about the science and biochemistry of winemaking. Kerith relishes time with her family (3 kids and a pound dog) and friends. She enjoys cooking, running, and gardening.
