Stacy Vogel

Miner Family Winery (Winemaker)

Stacy Vogel grew up in North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1999. While studying abroad in Spain, she became interested in wine and food and how integrated they are in the daily life of Spanish society. After some post-graduate stints in health care and IT, she was hired by a wine and beer distributor to do sales administration. There she had access to wines from all over the world and was able to hone her tasting skills, truly falling in love with wine as a result. She also had a chance to chat with many visiting winemakers and realized their jobs sounded like a lot of fun! So she set her sights on California and a career in winemaking.

Pursuing her dream, she first earned a Master’s Degree from the Viticulture and Enology program at the University of California at Davis and then worked harvests in Burgundy and Australia before returning to the Golden State. She has been with Miner Family Winery since 2008 and was promoted to Winemaker in 2013.

Stacy uses a combination of old world winemaking techniques and modern technology to make Burgundy-, Bordeaux-, and Rhône-style wines that reflect the characteristics of the terroir. These include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, Marsanne, and Viognier, among others. Stacy lives in Napa with her winemaker husband and their two adorable (of course!) children.
