Bridget Raymond

Courtesan (Winemaker)

Bridget Raymond was raised in Rutherford, California, in the heart of the Napa Valley, and she spent much of her time as a child playing among the vines of her family's vineyard. She recalls some of her fondest childhood memories were grape fights with her brother in the vineyards and making wine by stomping grapes with her feet. Years later, harvest became her favorite time of year.

Her uncles own vineyards in the Napa Valley and making wine is a family tradition. They were her first teachers. During college, she drove up to Napa on many weekends to help her uncles make wine and worked in tasting rooms to gain in-depth knowledge about various varietals and different winemaking processes used throughout the valley.

After college, Bridget moved to Manhattan to work in the wine and spirits division of a large public relations company. When she returned to San Francisco, she worked as the marketing manager of a wine importer and distributor in the city, where she was able to hone her international wine skills through tastings and travel abroad. She still continued with tradition and made the trek up to Napa every harvest to help the family. From winemaking to sales and marketing, she was exposed to many facets of the business, which made her feel ready to pursue her life-long dream of producing her own wine, independent of the family.

Bridget produces Cabernet Sauvignon at Courtesan.
