Stephanie Putnam

Raymond Vineyards (Director of Winemaking)

Stephanie Putnam is a native of Northern California and a graduate of the University of California, Davis, with a B.S. in Fermentation Science. She developed her passion for winemaking at an early age, thanks to her family's appreciation of gourmet food and wine. She fondly remembers many childhood trips to the Napa Valley, where her parents would travel to enjoy and collect wine.

Immediately after her graduation from Davis, Stephanie accepted an internship at The Hess Collection in Napa. She was asked to stay on following the internship, and over a ten-year period progressed from cellar worker to winemaker. While at Hess, she also worked with the winery's South American partners.

In 2001, Far Niente came knocking at the door, and Stephanie was ready for a new opportunity. She spent eight years as winemaker at Far Niente Winery, where she contemporized its house style. She joined the Boisset Family Estates team in February 2010 as Director of Winemaking at Raymond Vineyards, where she oversees all aspects of winemaking for this iconic Napa Valley winery. Boisset purchased Raymond Vineyards in August 2009.

Throughout her work at these well-regarded Napa Valley wineries, Stephanie has focused on producing high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. Her wines have won wide acclaim, including being listed as one of the Top 100 wines by the Wine Spectator and the Wine Enthusiast, and recognition as Cabernet of the Year by The Wine News.

Stephanie currently resides in Napa with her two Labrador dogs.
