Welcome to Migrations, a website designed to serve 3-8 students and their teachers. Its goal is to spark interest and action regarding migration in our rapidly changing world.
This site considers the phenomenon of migration in our rapidly changing world, from global climate change and economic stress, to technology that connects people and places all over the globe.
Migrations focuses on California and the Bay Area while also introducing dance and other arts' creative relationship with migration themes.
Created as a tool for students and educators, Migrations has two goals:
- To build awareness and encourage informed action about migrating species, including humans, and the challenges they face in a changing global environment
- To introduce the arts, specifically dance, as an expressive vehicle to comment upon both the miracle of migration and the concern for present day stresses to the phenomenon of migration
