In the novel, Marcus and Jolu hold secret meeting where they invite only the most trusted friends for the purpose of conspiring against the DHS in order to gain back their rights. When citizens of the United States plot to take down the United States government is considered treason, however the Declaration of Independence does state that revolution is acceptable when the government has become a destructive force. In Little Brother Doctorow portrays this gathering as the beginning of a revolution, but after already being declared as a terrorist group by the DHS their planning to take it down would be treason. However treason alone does not make people committing the act of treason as terrorists, so the Xnet would most likely not be a terrorist group. |
