Glossary
Exegesis refers to the critical study of a text, in our case the Bible.  "Critical study" can be done in a multitude of ways, depending on the types of questions one wants to ask.  These various ways of approaching a text are referred to as exegetical or critical methods.  A list of some of these methods follows, with links to pages outside the course website.  The links provide full descriptions of the methods, guidelines for using them, and bibliographies. You are not required to use these for your final assignment; they are provided here in case you are interested in further work with biblical criticism.
