Literary
Genres in the Bible
- A genre is a literary "species" whose exemplars share
certain attributes, such as subject matter, structure, style and
effect. Familiar genres include tragedy, comedy, epic,
satire and lyric. While these classical genres are
not represented in the Bible, the Bible has some of its own genres,
including biography, law code, history, dialogue and apocalypse.
