  • The Chinese who built the railroad used a very forceful dynamic because they had to blast through rock to build tunnels and lay tracks.

  • Most Chinese people that migrated to California to work were men. Many of these men had families back in China who depended on the money they earned working on the railroad and in laundries. They were only able to correspond through letters.

    Teachers can explore the concept of distance and sensing someone else through a divide. Dancers are able to sense each other and reach out to someone through space without touching.
