Blackcap Warbler Examples

• The blackcap warbler mates with other birds that have migrated to the same area. Each migration cycle they have to find a new mate from the group of birds that are in their area.

  5.2.6 Demonstrate cooperation, collaboration, and empathy in working with partners and in groups (e.g. leading/following, mirroring, calling/responding, echoing, opposing).

   

• The blackcap warbler uses constellations to help navigate their migration

  Students can simulate this navigational tool by assigning objects in a room characteristics that will elicit certain responses (ex: they look at the clock and they change directions, ext.)
