African American Example

• Many African Americans migrated to California for factory jobs during World War Two. These jobs required many hours of repetitive motion, uniformity, and concentration.

  Teachers can simulate factory jobs by having students do repetitive motions. They can explore both “real” (simulating hammering, placing things on an assembly line) and abstract types of motions.

  4.2.1 Create, develop, and memorize set movement patterns and sequences.
