Through most of history, locust have been feared for their ability to destroy. A swarm of locust can wipe out crops planted by humans. The last major plague of locust, however, occured from 1928 to 1942. The threat of migratory locust wiping out crops is not very likely. However the desert locust, which lives mostly in Africa, is still a threat to the people who live there.
