The California Tiger Salamander has recently been listed as a "species of special concern." This is due to the recent decrease in population numbers. There has even been a postage stamp of these salamanders created so that people will become aware of the issue.
This species is in danger of becoming extinct because much of their habitat has been destroyed or built over by humans. People can help save these animals by allowing for their migration path to be sectioned off so that no one can build over it.
