The advancements in technology may have their greatest affects in the class rooms. Classes are becoming more and more geared to powerpoints and videos and less towards lectures and chalkboards. It’s great that teachers are embracing these new tools, but how long will it be until these ‘tools’ completely replace the teachers? Online colleges already exist and that is the highest level of education. Logically it can be assumed that as technology grows, so will online education. In a hundred years schools might not even exist anymore. Physical contact with teachers could be gone forever which is something that is so crucial to learning. Obviously this idea is very out there, and may not happen, but it seems like that is the path that we are on, and if so, our society will definitely regress because of it. |
