Kylie Dutton

Dutton Family Winery (Vice President of Winemaking and Production)

Kylie Dutton was destined to become part of the wine industry. Growing up in the Russian River Valley, she developed a strong connection to the land, surrounded by the aromas of wine and tasting of the fruit from her family’s vineyards. After finishing high school, during which time she assisted at her parents’ winery, Dutton Estate Winery, she matriculated at the University of Arizona, where she earned a B.S. degree in Agribusiness Economics and Management and a certificate in Agricultural Leadership and Innovation in 2018. During summers while in college, Kylie held positions in the tasting room at the winery in Sebastopol.

After graduating from the university, Kylie’s passion for wine prompted a return to her Dutton Estate Winery as tasting room director, learning other aspects of the wine business, including working in the cellar for three years under the mentorship of the winery’s consulting winemaker, Bobby Donnell. Kylie held a harvest internship in New Zealand, completed her formal education with a winemaking certificate from the University of California, Davis, in 2021, and returned to the winery that same year as assistant winemaker. She is now the Vice President of Winemaking and Production at the winery, where she and her sister, Kyndall, who is Vice President of Business Operations, oversee all of the winery’s daily operations.

The two of them deeply value their agricultural heritage, dedicating themselves to caring for the land and producing outstanding wines. As Kylie says, “My vision for the future of our vineyards and winemaking business is one where tradition meets innovation—a place where every bottle tells a story of dedication, resilience, and love for the art of winemaking. It’s a future where each generation adds its chapter to an ever-evolving legacy, ensuring that it thrives and adapts while staying rooted in our original values.”

A small-sized winery, Dutton Estate is noted for its Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Syrah.
