Sarah Quider

Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery (Executive Winemaker)

Sarah Quider started at Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery in 1995 as an intern and worked harvest with then-winemaker George Bursick. She also was employed at Jordan Winery as enologist from 1999 to 2003.

After graduating from the University of California, Davis, in 2005 with a B.S. degree in Viticulture & Enology, Sarah was looking for a winemaking job and had to go no further than Ferrari-Carano. George Bursick was happy to hire her back as assistant winemaker, and she was soon elevated to associate winemaker in charge of the Russian River White Wine Program. She was named winemaker in 2003 and executive winemaker in 2015. After Foley Family Wines acquired the winery in 2020, Sarah was named Vice President of Winemaking for the firm.

As VP, Sarah oversees production of all the Foley wines, including at Ferrari-Carano, Lancaster Estate, Sebastiani Vineyards and Winery, and Chalk Hill Estate Winery. Her approach to winemaking is to use gentle techniques, blending wine for style, quality, and multidimensional complexity.
