About The Fatherhood Project Blending dance, juggling, original music and interviews excerpts from a diverse group of fathers, sons and daughters, this performance work reveals the complexity of fatherhood by exploring the many hats dads wear, from breadwinner to coach to remote control tyrant. The Fatherhood Project features the dance of David J. Popalisky, with performances by the Dads Don't Dance ensemble, Santa Clara University dancers, and master juggler Rock Lerum, and represents another collaboration with composer True Rosaschi (Barred from Life, performed in Chicago, Milwaukee, and throughout California). The Fatherhood Project premiered September 22, 2006 at Santa Clara University to enthusiastic acclaim from nearly 600 people over two performances. Post performance discussions allowed audience members to ask questions of the dancing dads, youth performers and principle artists Popalisky, Rosaschi and Lerum. Many shared their own fatherhood stories brought up by the performance. Upcoming Performances |

"But one night he got all the way to the side of our bed and I woke up with him there and he said "just say yes and we'll both be happy." It was perfectly concise, I could just stay in bed and fall asleep. That's my biggest regret, that I didn't say yes. I was such a jerk in that way. " - DAVID J. POPALISKY |
