Rancho San Antonio Country Park is an open space reserve and public park. The park is owned by the County of Santa Clara Parks and Recreation Department to the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District. The park is 165 acres with a multitude of trails available for the public to enjoy. It is located in the foothills near Skyline Ridge, near Interstate 280 and the cities of Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Cupertino. The park is open all year, from sunrise to sunset. Bathrooms, drinking fountains for both people and horses are located by Deer Hollow Farm, as well as map locations.A picture of the barn near the farm.

The wildlife of the park is fairly activate. There are several posted warnings of both mountain lions and ticks, both of which can been dangerous to hikers. Different reasons though. The lions might try to eat you, and the species as a whole has a record of attacking smaller people... like children (so do not let them wander off). The park has yet to have a problem with lion attacks, but one cannot be too careful. The ticks spread nasty disease like Lime disease. If bitten by a tick, do not try to pull it out as the mouth can be left in and keep chewing – making the whole thing worse. Go see a doctor who can safely remove it. There are also coyotes, although they pose less of a danger issue; still do not feed them. Less dangerous animals include deer, rabbits and turkeys, although none of them should be approached as they carry disease, ticks (who have more disease) and may defend themselves. The gang of turkeys is a common sight, but will peck at those whose get to close.

The park provides many opportunity for activities. The trails are perfect for jogging, hiking, or simply taking a long walk. There are also trails that are equestrian and biking friendly. The total mileage of trails is about twenty three miles. Bicycles are restricted to paved paths only, and the only equestrian trail is the staging area and Coyote Trail.A trail next to the read to Deer Hollow Farm.

The South Meadow area near the parking area is a rough grass area, providing opportunities for a variety of activities. The area is often home to model aeroplane enthusiasts, who use the meadow for take-off and landing zones; watching the planes can make for a very relaxing weekend.

Beyond the South Meadow is the North Meadow. Within this area are tennis courts and handball courts for sports players. There are several picnic tables and barbecue pits in the meadow as well, which makes it a popular place for school field trips and other group events.

Deer Hollow farm is also located in the park. The Farm is a working farm, with a focus on educational material. The farm is offers a series of educational programs about environmental and agricultural topics. The farm does not operate on Mondays.
