Béatrice Cointreau

Admirable Family Vineyards (Winemaker and Owner)

Béatrice Cointreau is part of a long line of winemakers and distillers. As the great-granddaughter of the founder of Cointreau liquor and the granddaughter of the founder of Rémy Martin, she takes pride in carrying forward their values of entrepreneurship without working for either of those historical firms.

Her extensive educational background reflects her passion for the luxury businesses associated with wine, liquor, and gastronomy. Thus, she has earned diplomas in Perfume Preparation and Wine Tasting from ISIPCA-Versailles and Talence-Bordeaux, respectively, and Master’s degrees in Business Administration and in Private and Commercial Law from Cornell University and Paris II University– Panthéon Assas, respectively.

In 2013 she founded Admirable Family Vineyards, a boutique winery in Malibu. The first release of her varietals, which include white and red blends, occurred in Fall, 2015.

Béatrice moved to Los Angeles to be close to her two sons, but remains involved in businesses in France. She soon realized that Malibu possessed Provence-like terroir, which motivated her to start her winery.

Among other organizations, Béatrice was the first female member of the Wine Academy of France, the first dignitaire of Ordre des Coteaux in Champagne, and a former president of Dame du Vin in France. In addition to being a board member of Women of the Vine and Spirits, she has served on the boards of a number of companies. Béatrice is also the author of “Organic wine: the marketer’s guide” as well as other books.

When the multitude of her professional activities permit, Béatrice can be found enjoying a number of sports, which include sailing, riding, golfing, fencing, surfing, and skiing.
