Paula Moschetti

Frog's Leap Winery (Winemaker)

Born and raised in Sonoma County, Paula Moschetti graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a B.S. in Food Science. A summer internship at Coors Brewing Company in Golden, Colorado, as a research chemist piqued her interest in brewing science. However, something happened on the way to the brewery — Paula discovered the world of wine. In the summer of 1990, she began her career in the wine industry as a chemist with Beaulieu Vineyards (BV) in Rutherford. After working at BV for 4 years, Paula wanted to move from the large-scale production and laboratory work it offered to learn more about winemaking by working in a smaller vineyard.

In 1994, she accepted the position of enologist at Frog's Leap Winery alongside owner and winemaker John Williams. Inspired by John's approach to sustainability, organic farming, and a low impact style of winemaking, Paula completed extension courses in viticulture and enology at both the University of California, Davis and Napa Valley College. In 1999, Paula was promoted to winemaker where she took on the Chardonnay program and was instrumental in the creation of Frog's Leap Pink wine.

She is an active member of Women for WineSense, The American Society of Enology and Viticulture, and the Napa Valley Wine Technical Group. Paula lives in Napa with her husband and two children. In addition to her passion for wine, she loves travel and fashion.
