Andrea (AJ) Maley

WildRose Vineyards (Consulting Winemaker)

AJ Maley started working in the wine industry in 1982, after graduating from California State University, Stanislaus, with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She now has more than 30 years of experience making wine in Lodi and San Joaquin Valley.

Her first winery position was at Guild Wineries and Distillers Lab in August 1982. She moved to Turner Winery, at age 24, as winemaker, where she received her first medals for wine at the Orange County Fair. From 1988 to 1998, AJ held various positions at Sebastiani in Lodi, now known as the Turner Road location. She then took a two-year winemaking and laboratory manager position at Bear Creek Winery in Lodi. Since that time she has held winemaker positions at Van Ruiten Winery, Jewel Collection, and Jessie's Grove Winery, among other wineries in Lodi. She has been a consultant winemaker for WildRose Vineyards since 2006.

AJ is currently working on her own winery start-up in Lodi. Having spent so long in the wine industry, she sees this as great way to wind down her career in it.

AJ and her three sons live in Lodi, California.
