|All 50 states in the U.S. have set the minimum legal drinking age to 21. Unfortunately, the fact
of the matter is that many
under 21 year-olds begin drinking in their teens, usually in high school and then regularly in college. Binge drinking and alcohol
poisoning have been rising on college campuses and many college chancellors have argued that it is because of the high legal drinking
age. By bringing the drinking age down to 18, cases of binge drinking and hidden dorm room drinking on college campuses might not be
as prevalent. Also as many would argue, if someone is at the age where they could go off and fight for their country, they should at least be able to enjoy a beer before they do.
