Arabic  
A Southwest Semitic language spoken originally in Arabia and now also in Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, and parts of Northern Africa.  Contemporary dialects differ somewhat from the form of Arabic found in the Qur'an, which is now referred to as "Classical Arabic."
