Bob Fraser

Bob Fraser has been designing scenery since high school. The special skills necessary to create scenery for touring shows were honed as a scene designer for special services in the U.S. Army until 1969. Since then he has created scenery for well over 150 productions by regional, college, and community theatres in Ohio, Minnesota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas and California. His work has ranged from small high school sets to work as a union stagehand and for a while a circus rigger to creating both scenery and an entire theatre for the production of the professional musical, Dakota Roads in Wall S.D. (home of the famous Wall drugstore). Through it all his favorite has always been small touring sets of the type he has done for Barred from Life.

In addition to his theatre work Bob has also worked as an actor, video editor, computer programmer, teacher, and book salesman. Bob currently is the theatre manager and technical director for Sacred Heart Schools in Atherton.

"I need a poem, a master poem.
Once and for all I need a poem to destroy poetry and break these iron bars.
A poem to make the stars blink, a poem to trouble the sleep of the chained,
Some words and strikes of magic to be heard through all the world.
Power sounds to hurl all wrong to appropriate places."

- DELBERT TIBBS
