American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) was founded in 1880 with the intention of promoting mechanical engineering across college campuses nationwide. The society strives to create a cohesive community of mechanical engineers looking to improve and expand the industry. The non-profit professional organization enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, and development across all engineering disciplines while promoting the vital role that engineering plays in modern society. The Santa Clara University chapter provides opportunities for engineering students to develop relationships with other members, create connections with professional engineers from industry, and give back to the local community through university-funded programs.
