Poverty In Manila

Image from website

In training us to become Men-For-Others, the Ateneo tries to make reality the poverty in the Philippines. In a country wherein the minimum wage PER DAY is a meager 350 pesos (8 dollars), wherein a degree is needed for every job, wherein the economy is at its all time low, we Ateneans are ignited to find ways of alleviating poverty in Manila. Education is perhaps one of the greatest commodities that a typical Filipino could have and it is their duty as someone who has received higher learning to use his or her capabilities for the well being of not just himself, but for the needy as well. We Ateneans must exemplify compassion. We Ateneans must become men-for-others.
