Online Role-Playing GamesIs it really education? |
| MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) became popular in the 1990s and quickly attracted millions of users. These games allow you to create a fictional character and embark on a journey or play a role the player desires hence the term role-playing. On the surface, we see MMORPGs as exciting and somewhat addicting, but if we delve beneath the surface we can see that players do much more than moving characters around, leveling up (a gaming term referring to an increase in level), completing missions, and enhancing your avatar. What people might not know is that it takes skills in order to succeed in these games. But can these skills translate into everyday life especially school. |
