Volunteer information:
Meeting Time: Monday-Thursday after 3:00 pm. two hour weekly commitment, flexible and based of your own schedule.
Social aspect:This program's flexibility allows for an inclusivity of both individual volunteers and groups.
Ideal Volunteer:Anyone!! Spanish speakers are helpful yet language will not be an obstacle. Tutoring will be set up by the agency, and times will depend on the availability of both student and tutor. The mentoring program is called "Kid's Club." This program looks similar to structured play time and we act as mentors, but mostly friends to help break the cycle of violence. For the safety of the children and their mothers, a quick background form is required to be filled out and processed before volunteering at Homesafe. |
Julian Street Inn |

Come volunteer with homeless women and children living in shelters around the San Jose Area. Help enrich the lives of these disenfranchised people as well as your own.
New Beginnings is switching things up a little this year, and there is more of an opportunity for people wanting to really take on a leadership role. On Thursdays the kids have activity time after the initial homework hour, and we're thinking of taking on one night a week to completely plan and run the activity night. It could be a great opportunity for students interested in education or teaching. |

Volunteer information:
Meeting Time: Tues/Wed 4:30-5:45 and Thurs 4:30-7:30
Social aspect:This program is better for people who are interested in getting involved individually or in smaller groups (of two or three).
Ideal Volunteer: Its good for volunteers to go regularly and provide a stable and supportive relationship for a group of children whose lives are otherwise very unstable. |
United Hands: Teens Night
|
Open your heart and lend a hand to an AWESOME and ENERGETIC group of homeless teenagers every week. Join us for a variety of activities that provide these teens with opportunities to have fun and engage in the community around them. |

Volunteer information:
Meeting Time: Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8pm
Social aspect:It's a fun program to do with friends, but doing it individually allows you to build better relationships with the teens and get more involved.
Ideal Volunteer: An ideal volunteer would be outgoing and enthusiastic and good with kids/teens. It would also be better if they were a regular volunteer but it's not necessary. |
