My Machinima is a fan-fiction video based off the novel “Little Brother” my Doctorow.  I enjoyed making this video and am happy with the end result, but the process took well over 20 hours.  We began by dividing up the roles by prop collector, location collector, gesture collctor, animation collector etc.  However after production, we soon realized that many of these items were not transferable between characters.  It would have been better to assign each member a character and they would be in charge of getting all the props and animations that their character needs.

Once we became acquainted with how to move the characters around and shoot, we had to creatively decide how we would bring Francesca’s script to life.  We did this through various close-ups and the use of sound effects that we obtained from iMovie.

We recorded all voice-overs using a recorder that we rented from media services.  This allowed us to record in quiet rooms and avoid background noises.  We also used Final Cut Pro at the end to ensure that all sound level flowed evenly.

Overall, a lot of effort and time went into this video and I only wish she could have had a little more technological help at the library.
