This project serves as a space for me to share information about an important and often underrepresented philosophical tradition. It will attempt to provide a brief overview of what humanism is and how I came to embrace it. Humanism is an ancient belief system that focuses its concern on what is directly observable.
Will our decisions about media ownership mirror the degree to which we value participation in a democratic society? The relationship between media ownership and democracy will be explored in further detail by looking at examples of how emergent Internet culture is clashing with long held conventions about intellectual property rights.
Peer learning is a method of educational instruction that has gathered considerable attention over the last couple of decades. With a variety of forms such as peer tutoring, cooperative learning, and peer assessment, peer learning has proven to yield academic gains for students in the classroom environment.
Only recently has academic interest in the internet hit critical mass. Researchers, social commentators, and laypersons are all trying to understand the effect that our now highly networked society has on our lives.
