Adaptation is getting harder and harder with every passing generation. We have become obsessed with making our jobs easier and easier; to the point were some of us cant keep up with the current rate of technological development. Many claim that this newfound technology can be shaped and used in such a way that would empower education and bring it to a totally different level. But how can we adapt technology in a positive way in today’s classroom? Combing the new visual arts plus touch screen technologies we have apparently designed the new notebooks of the future. The internet has become and will remain to be the biggest encyclopedia of the world. However even though these technological advancements seem very promising, many psychologists claim there is much harm created by the constant exposure of young students to technology.

Jane L. Powers, and John Eckenrode write an article in which they survey young adolescent kids, and demonstrate how alienated and addicted young students can become. However not everybody thinks the internet is going to alienate our youth, some have faith in the belief that it is possible to teach through video games and electronic stimulation. Brian M. Slator one of the writers of the book: Electric Worlds in the Classroom has come with a way in teaching young students through electronic stimulation, provided by a computer. He provides plans to develop a curriculum in which one can incorporate technology in a productive way. The debate of our century, as many said progress cannot be stopped and it will not be stopped.
