Benjamin Michael Singer -- Later in April...

UPDATED 05/03/2004

Here are some pictures from weeks three, four, and five of Benjamin's life.  As I write this, I can hardly believe that he's 40 days old, nearly six weeks.  At his one-month pediatrician's appointment, he was 11 1/2 pounds and 23 inches, which makes him pretty big!  Not chubby, but drinking an amazing amount at each feeding and growing almost every day, in front of our eyes.

The Singer family visited in mid-April:  Mary and Gary, grandparents from Spokane, and his aunt Rachel from Chicago.  It was great to have more far-flung relatives visit and help out and get to meet him!  Other friends visit and help out occasionally -- Neil, Jeanne, Anne-Marie, and others.  The bumper pads on his crib look great; we're doing lots of laundry and bathing him every now and then.  Occasionally he likes sleeping in his cradle swing or on his boppy pillow, and we've recently pulled out the activity mat for him to lie on and bat at things (little skill so far, but he's improving!).  We also took Benjamin on his first plane ride -- a trip to Washington, D.C. to participate in the March for Women's Lives.  A real activist at one month old!  We enjoyed visiting with Caroline and Brian there, too, and Melissa was very unimpressed by the effects of the No Child Left Behind act.
