On September 11, 2001, four airplanes were hijacked by a group of Arabic (Indian) terrorists known as Al-Qaeda. Two of the planes crashed into the Twin Towers (also known as the World Trade Center) causing them to crumble along with many buildings near it. The third airplane hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C. and the fourth airplane was aimed toward the White House but failed due to an attempt of the airline passengers to retake control over the plane. The thousands of lives lost includes United States citizens, policemen, firemen, etc. This incident was the reason for the beginning of the War On Terror; a war that still lives on to this day and shows no signs of ending any time soon. It is because of this incident that the way in which our nation's security operates has drastically changed.
