As these pictures display, there are common assumptions about men and women and these thoughts are usually lumped into genders. But, while gender refers to the stereotypes associated with being a man or a woman, it does not necessarily imply the physical characteristics of a person. Gender often helps describe acceptable divisions of labor and role in a relationship. In a relationship where a women is the more dominate of the two they will sometimes say they are the "man in the relationship" to explain they are occupying the roles typically fulfilled by the male. Gender norms are often stereotypes about men and women as a whole but women can have masculine traits and men can have feminine qualities. The differences in gender also result in differences in use of the Internet. Men and women find the Internet as essential parts of different sections of their lives.
