The Local Food Movement is a movement that aims to promote the purchase and consumption of locally grown foods. In addition to supporting this, the movement also aims to promote the production of locally grown food through encouraging community supported agriculture such as local farms, community gardens, backyard and urban gardens, as well as public fruit trees.

Buying and growing locally is supported as part of a larger movement towards a more sustainable future, as well as cultivating a greater understanding of food production as a whole. Our current Industrial Agriculture industry accounts for much of our pollution today, and a part of the local food movement is to try and raise awareness in consumers at the supermarket.
