College Men Drinking Alcohol: Just all Fun and Games?
So drinking in college is pretty much inevitable for almost everyone, at least in the United States. Drinking is not a bad thing, but drinking too much is. Yeah, you could binge drink all through your college career and be ok maybe, but maybe not. Most men who drink a lot in college will experience some negative consequence related to drinking alcohol.
The statistics about alcohol related problems are staggering. Violent crimes, sexual assault, and destruction of property are all highly correlated to drinking alcohol in college, especially among men.
The media does not help with this problem, and in fact makes it worse. Drinking in TV and movies is portrayed as a glamorous thing, with no negative consequences. This gives rise to many men using these examples as a sense of how they should behave in college.
Many people do not make it out of college without some form of consequence from drinking too much. Real life testimonies of college men prove how serious of a problem this is.
