99% of the population speaks Greek. It has the longest documented history of any language going back 34 centuries and is the language used in the New Testament of the Bible. About 14 million people speak Greek worldwide.

The modern Greek alphabet consists of 24 letters, each with a capital and lowercase form. Accent marks are used to emphasize added stress to a letter. The language looks like this:
