Funerals and view of funerals have begun to change overtime into celebrations of life, especially in this multimedia age. A Celebration of Life is a different type of funeral that positively focuses on the life of deceased. The traditional funeral originated from the age of the Civil War, yet the traditional funeral seems to transcend across ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds. Traditional funerals are perhaps one of the largest costs a family will owe, because it is connected to social factors, such as a person’s emotional state and their desire to give their loved one proper respect. Choosing a traditional funeral may not seem like a choice at all to many Americans, due to lack of experience, but alternatives do exist, which I have seen in my personal experience.
