One of my major influences as a musician. With Funk, the emphasis is on the entertainment music can bring. Rhythmically, Funk is one of the most exciting genres American music can offer. The influences can be felt in rock groups such as the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to the Queens of Stone Age.

Generally, Funk emphasizes the bass line as the guiding force for creating the party atmosphere. Where its strengths lie is how the percussion, guitar, and drums build off the bass line to construct the party. In Funk, the emphasis falls on the 1st and 3rd beat which was an innovation considering most of rock and blues to emphasize the 2 and the 4.
