This website and the subjects that it discusses were inspired by a reading of Cory Doctorow’s Little Brother. Modern technology, remixes, and mash-up culture are things that would be familiar to the children in the novel and they are familiar to the kids and students of today. Doctorow published Little Brother under a Creative Commons license essentially allowing people to do anything they want with his work provided they don’t attempt to publish it for commercial gain (an idea I strongly support). |

Here is an example of what you can do under a license like the Creative Commons license. It is a video made by me and a few members of the class I was in in which we read Little Brother, done as part of a class assignment. It’s a fan fiction film adaptation of a side story in the novel. |
