EXT. Front Steps of Marcus’s House – Evening
MARCUS is looking very downtrodden and depressed. He is thinking about how the DHS has taken everything away from him and how his world has completely changed. He is just getting back to his house after he and JOLU were ambushed by the DHS in an attempt to capture them both. Marcus got away but Jolu did not – flashback.

INT. Sitting at table of coffee shop in downtown SF – Afternoon
It is overcast weather, not raining but looking like it will. Jolu and Marcus are just finishing talking about how hopeless the situation with Darryl looks and that they don’t even know if he’s alive. They get up and go to leave.

EXT. Outside of coffee shop – Afternoon
Marcus and Jolu are leaving the coffee shop and talking about how they are trying to organize with some XNetters that are in similar positions as themselves. They spot a suspicious black van across the road and look at each other worried. They speed up their pace and see a man that looks like an agent on the street corner opposite from them. They are walking down the street quickly and try to turn down an alley to sneak away.

EXT. Alleyway off of sidewalk – Afternoon
Marcus and Jolu are very worried that the DHS are following them and are trying to hurry down the alley as fast as possible. They get out onto the street on the other end and a black SUV with tinted windows speeds up and pulls to the curb about 15 feet away. They see it and begin sprinting down the sidewalk in the other direction. A group of 4 men dressed in black clothing jump out of the SUV and start chasing them, claiming they are police and yelling for the boys to stop.

EXT. Street of SF – Afternoon getting darker
The two boys run around a street corner and another 2 men dressed in black are running up that street. Marcus and Jolu panic and run in separate directions. Marcus runs across the street dodging traffic and hopping over a taxi. Jolu turns right down an alleyway. Marcus stops quickly and looks back, seeing that Jolu ran down a deadend alleyway and gets cornered. He looks sad and like he wants to try and save him but then hears the DHS guys yell that the other one went across the road, so he keeps running. Then the flashback fades out and back to current time.

EXT. Front door of Marcus’s house – Evening
Marcus unlocks the door and goes in. The house is empty and silent with the lights off. He walks into the kitchen and switches the light on then takes a seat at the table. He puts his face in his hands for a 6 or so seconds then when he looks up he is tearing. He looks over to a shelf next to the counter and stares at a picture of him and his parents, eyes still tearing. Then goes to flashback.

INT. Marcus’s living room – Day
Marcus comes home from being released from the DHS for the first time. His parents have been worried sick about him since he has been missing since the terrorist attack. They welcome him in and ask him what happened to him. He breaks down and explains everything that actually happened, Darryl getting stabbed, he and his friends trying to get help and getting abducted by DHS, and their imprisonment and interrogations. His parents believe him and are outraged. They are all huddled together, comforting Marcus. The next morning his parents still have him go to school. While he is at school they are on the computer posting about the events that Marcus told them and trying to find out more about what’s going on. There is then a knock on the door and Marcus’s mom goes and answers it and we see a man dressed in black standing on the front steps and a few more in the background. That shot ends then the next one starts with Marcus coming home from school opening the front door. He puts his stuff down and goes into the living room and doesn’t see anyone. He then goes into the kitchen and doesn’t see anyone and calls out “Mom?”, then pauses to no reply, then “Dad?”, still silence. He goes back to the front door and notices one of his mom’s earrings on the carpet near the door, he bends down to pick it up then slowly stands up with a very worried and defeated look on his face as his stare falls aimlessly out the front window and the flashback fades back to reality.

INT. Marcus’s Kitchen – Evening
Shot starts with Marcus coming out of the flashback looking at the photo of him and his parents then putting his head on his forearms on the table and crying. He looks up and wipes his eyes and cheeks with his sleeve then walks over to the refrigerator and opens it and takes out a carton of milk and takes a swig. He stares downwards and with his hand on the handle of the fridge and milk carton in the other hand puts his head on the refrigerator door and weeps.

INT. Marcus’s stairs to the upstairs – Night
Shot from upstairs aiming downwards as Marcus comes around the corner slowly, heading up the stairs. He stops and there is a closeup shot as the memory of Darryl getting stabbed and taken away comes into his mind. Scene then flashbacks to that.

EXT. BART station after bridge is blown up – Noon
The BART station is chaos and is jam-packed with people trying to flee the area. People are getting trampled and it is absolute mayhem. The shot is about head level in the middle of the crowd following Marcus, Darryl, Jolu, and Van as they trying and make their way through the crowd. Darryl lets out a yell and is helped out of the crowd by Jolu as Marcus and Van look back to see what happened but can’t actually do anything because of how dense and aggressive the crowd is. They get out of the crowd and Darryl has his arm around Jolu helping Darryl walk. Darryl winces and groans in pain and moves his hand away from his lower abdominal area to reveal a bloody stain. They all look down at it in horror and disbelief. Van yells out that they have to find help. They keep going up to the top of the street as emergency vehicles are flying by not stopping for them. Marcus goes into the middle of the road to stop the next vehicle heading their way. A black hummer skids to a stop and 4 men dressed in black with gas masks on hop out. One quickly walks up to Marcus, punching him and sending him to the ground. Two others grab Jolu and Van while the third hauls Darryl over to another vehicle that pulls up and they hood him and throw him in the back as the other three watch in horror, yelling at the men to stop. The shot then focuses on Marcus who is yelling at the men, pleading with them to let them go, it’s a close shot and one of the men punches him and hoods him then it goes black and the flashback ends.

INT. Marcus’s Room – Night
Shot from inside of Marcus’s room aiming towards the door as he opens it and walks in. Shot from the ceiling aiming straight down of him falling back on his bed and putting his hands over his face crying. Then a close up of him lashing out and flailing around, pounding on his bed then sitting up and picking up his laptop and hurling it at the wall smashing it into pieces. He then stands there sobbing.

INT. Marcus’s Bathroom – Night
Marcus shot from behind him as he stares pensively into the mirror, eyes still red from crying and looking worn out. He bends down to wash his face with water and shot changes to close-up and in front of him (like mirror’s point of view) as he stands up to face the mirror, shot switches to over the shoulder and in the mirror we see Darryl standing off behind him looking pale and holding the bloody stained area where he was stabbed. Marcus whirls around, petrified, and there is nobody there. His look changes to that of anguish and he bends over the sink counter and clenches his face with his hands and goes into a flashback.

EXT. Open grass area in a park – Day
Flashback starts with Van yelling at Marcus saying that he’s taken this too far. That creating XNet was a big mistake and that he should’ve just let it go and have moved on with his life and he wouldn’t have to deal with the DHS any more. Marcus tries to say something but Van cuts him off saying she’s had enough and doesn’t want anything to do with him if he’s going to keep rebelling against the DHS and she storms off as he calls out to her to saying “Van, no, you have to understand! Van just listen!” She keeps walking away and doesn’t turn around. Then the flashback ends.

INT. Marcus’s Room – Night
Marcus is sitting at his desk, eyes red, and staring hopelessly at his hands on the desk. Over the shoulder shot aim down at his hands, then he slowly moves his right hand down to his drawer and pulls out a bottle of pills and puts it on the desk in front of him. There is then a close up from the perspective of the bottle of pills looking up at Marcus as he stares at it looking extremely depressed. The label on the pills says potassium cyanide. He opens the bottle, pouring two pills out onto the desk. Tears run down his cheeks and he picks them up slowly, looks at them, then closeup headshot, then puts them on his tongue and closes his mouth while squinting his eyes shut while tearing. He then goes over to his bed and lies down and there is a closeup on his face as he shuts his eyes. The screen goes black.

INT. Interrogation Cell on Treasure Island
After a few seconds, there is a shot that mimics slow, delirious blinking as in a first-person shot of someone waking up from being unconscious. It is the perspective of Marcus and he is looking at the ground still waking up and confused. The shot then pans up and the severe haircut woman is standing over him looking down and lets out a smug laugh and then says, in a soft ominous voice, “Silly Marcus…you actually thought we’d let you end this? It’s far too much fun…”
